Jennifer Ahrendt is a freelance writer with more than 15 years of experience. She started her higher education at the University of Dayton in Dayton, Ohio, where she earned two Bachelor of Arts degrees in psychology and history. During this time, she also completed a large-scale inventory of historic homes in the Dayton area. After graduating from college, she went to work for one of the largest nonprofit historic preservation organizations in the nation. While working in both rural and urban areas, she surveyed both homes and other structures along with parks and memorials. During this period, she began working on a Master of Arts in historic preservation through the Savannah College of Art and Design in Savannah, Georgia.
Ahrendt began writing online in 2008. Her work has appeared on sites such as All Trails, Livestrong, Classroom.com, and Home Guides. She is also the owner of several blogs where she writes young adult fiction from an adult perspective, as well as the horror films she loves to watch. Her pieces on haunted places around Ohio led to the launch of her first book, and she plans to release more in the coming years. Ahrendt is popular in her community for her work rescuing and fostering abandoned cats. She currently resides in the Dayton area with several pet black cats and a few rescues.
