Julie James is a part-time freelance writer known for her love of electronics. From an early age, she became the go-to fix-it person for people around her neighborhood. After her parents bragged about how quickly she fixed their VCR and old television, neighbors quickly started coming to her with their problems. This fostered her interest in electronics and led to her starting her first business where she built and repaired computers for others. James then attended the Ohio State University where she majored in computer science and completed an internship with one of the top tech companies in the world.

James now divides her time between her repair business and writing on the web. In addition to computer repairs, she takes custom orders where she builds PCs for customers. She also accepts donations of old computers, which she repairs and gives to those in need. James enrolled part-time in an OSU graduate program in computer science with an emphasis on information technology and plans to finish her degree in the next year. When not working in her shop or sitting behind a computer screen, James enjoys camping with her husband and two rescue dogs as well as volunteering at local nursing homes.
